By the evening of November 1, there was no trace of Halloween left in my yard or in my house.
I light my candle Frosted Cranberries from the Bath & Body Works, my boyfriend is getting the Christmas decorations out of the basement (all by himself—I swear I'm not twisting his arm), and I'm playing my playlist My favorite singer, Mariah Carey, is playing in my living room (do I really need to tell you which song it is?), my Christmas tree is up, and I can start my set up.
A lot of people think I’m way too excited about Christmas, and I couldn’t agree more. I’m proud to love Christmas so much—I think it’s such a beautiful holiday, full of love and lovely colors. It’s the perfect time to get the whole family together.
I love the holiday season, but not because of the gifts and overconsumption—since it’s so easy to get carried away—but because of the traditions, family time, and good food (okay, maybe I’m overindulging a little there).
My family and I have our own special traditions:
- On Sundays in November and December, we settle in the living room to watch Christmas movies
- Let's cook: pâtés, egg rolls & desserts
- We like to set aside an evening to go see the beautiful Christmas decorations in our neighborhood
- Of course, we have an Advent calendar! What better way to start our day than by eating a little piece of chocolate that reminds us that Christmas is coming?
I wish you a Happy Holidays and hope you’ll be happy—it’s that simple.
What about you? What are your holiday traditions?
