I’ve learned what it means to be a citizen and to discover who I am. I’ve learned about politics, the country, the provinces, and our most spectacular tourist attractions. I’m proud to live in this country.
O Canada!
Land of our forefathers
Our country is full of people who have made a difference, and we are fortunate to carry on their work. We are also open-minded and welcoming citizens. We are not afraid of immigration; we integrate people into our various provinces. We have generous and caring hearts. These newcomers will also become our ancestors.
Your brow is crowned with glorious flowers
Our province is the only entirely French-speaking one in our country; we must preserve our beautiful language and show our fellow citizens that we are important. Let us preserve our glorious language.
For your arm knows how to wield the sword
It knows how to bear the cross
Every citizen possesses strength and a faith, a strong character, but also a noble soul. We have a fine, mighty army that protects us. We have places of worship, and we respect one another across these different faiths.
Your history is an epic
Of the most brilliant feats
The history of our country is fascinating and wonderful.
And your courage, forged in faith
Will protect our homes and our rights,
Will protect our homes and our rights.
We are lucky—our country is a democracy. We can vote for the person who will lead us, and we have laws that prevent just anything from happening to our country. Elsewhere, people aren’t so fortunate.
Happy birthday to our country. I am proud to be a citizen of this beautiful country, Canada.
