Fatherhood was long sidelined. Men were mostly relegated to the role of providers and played very little part in raising their children. Although even today many men aren’t very comfortable around young children, the vast majority of them now play a crucial role in their children’s lives. To all these men who are so important and present in their children’s lives, here’s what your children would surely say to you.

My dad, who’s like a giant to me, knows how to help me discover the world by lifting me high up on his shoulders.

My dad, the superhero who chases away all the monsters that scare me—with you, I feel safe.

My dad, the one who knows how to make me laugh or bring back my smile when it fades. Even without a clown nose, he’s the funniest person in my eyes.

My dad, the one who helps me relax. In your arms, I feel the warmth and I feel so good.

My dad, the one who sometimes scolds me, but who does it for my own good and safety.

My dad, you show me so many things to inspire me to explore the world and learn more and more every day.

My dad, you comfort me when I’m in pain and take care of me when I’m sick. I know you’d take all my suffering upon yourself to spare me from it.

Dad, you always make sure I’m comfortable and that I have everything I need. I know you want only the best for me.

Dad, you’d wish I never had to face any challenges, but it’s those challenges that help us grow. Thank you for holding my hand and giving me guidance as I make my way through life.

Dad, there are so many things you’re the best at! What I know for sure is that you’re the best for me! Thank you, Dad, for being there.

Thank you to all the dads out there for the amazing work you do with your children. When we look at them, we see their eyes light up when they’re with you.

A special thank you to my children’s dads, who love them from the bottom of their hearts.
