No, I didn’t become a millionaire—we all know that when I buy a scratch-off ticket, it’s really rare that I win more than a measly $2! What I mean—no, what I want to shout from the rooftops—is that with our family, I feel completely fulfilled! Well, yeah!
I can already hear the “Oh, great—another mom who wants to say she loves her kids…” Judge me all you want! But here’s the thing: I have almost 5 kids (because my 5th—now at 36 weeks pregnant—I’m hoping he’ll come out someday, you know?) and 7 when I count my partner’s kids! And that, well, is a shovelful of riches! Quite a bit more than 2 shovelfuls in your Raisin Bran!
Are we crazy? Yes! Are we tired, exhausted, at our wits’ end? Just like everyone else—meaning on Friday nights with the week weighing on us, the little one under our arm, dark circles stretching all the way down to our breasts! Well, duh! Yes, that’s for sure! Do I regret it? Not at all! Would I change my life? Oh, no way! Big families like this, ladies and gentlemen, are all about love—love in abundance! A couple who make a SOLID team, compromises left and right, a tight-knit routine, and even more love!
So the next time you see us at the corner grocery store and you ask me if my belly is my first baby—as if you hadn’t seen the whole gang following me—well, I’ll be proud to tell you that this is our seventh child in our blended family, and even if you think we’re crazy, well, we’re completely happy!
P.S. The wide-eyed looks of surprise or the judgmental glances (which don’t happen too often) make us even prouder, hehe!
