My child

A tribute to you, the little love of my life.

My child, you’re so young, and yet you’re already my whole life.

They say our children depend on us, but I depend on you too, because you’re my lifeblood. Honestly, I don’t know what I’d do without you. When I think about my life before you, I realize—strangely enough—just how “dull and aimless” it was. Not that life without a child is dull and aimless, but I realize that now that you’re here, my life has a whole new meaning, and that fills me with happiness. I feel like I’m accomplishing something extraordinary every day; I have a wonderful reason to get up every morning.

Sometimes I imagine going on vacation for a week or two by myself, without you—just enjoying the moment, not having to think about dinner, bath time, lunch, and so on… but then I come back down to earth and tell myself that I’d miss you way too much and that I want to experience all these adventures with you. I want to show you the world, make you believe again that the hay bales in the fields are dinosaur poop, and see your eyes light up at the thought. I want to make the most of the time I have with you.

No, I’m not always patient, but know that I’m doing my best to be the best mom I can be for you.

I knew the true meaning of love the moment our eyes met for the first time.

I love you with every fiber of my being.
