I know you’ve always wanted to have children of your own—for as long as I’ve known you. I’d love to have children with you, too. When? I really don’t know. I want to wait until my life settles down a bit before starting a new chapter. But I do wonder: would you stay if…?
Would you stay if… I decided that, in the end, it just doesn’t seem to be in the cards for me. I no longer want to have children. Would your love for me be enough, or would you always feel that void inside you?
Would you stay if… I decided not to have any more since I already have children from a relationship before you? Would you accept them? Would you consider them your own? Would we still be a family in your eyes even if you aren’t related to them by blood? Would that be enough for you even if your bloodline were to die out?
Would you stay if… we found out that I could no longer have children? I know there are several other options, such as adoption, among others, but would that be enough to satisfy your desire? For the future of your descendants who wouldn’t be biologically yours?
Would you stay… just for me? For our love? Would you be able to do that?
I’d love to be able to answer all these questions in advance so I wouldn’t have to get attached and end up heartbroken if it ever came to that. However, life doesn’t work that way. Sometimes you just have to trust in life and see where it takes you. Some questions are impossible to answer until you’re actually in that situation. We might have an idea of what we’d like, but once we’re fully in it, the answers can be very different. Stop asking yourself questions, enjoy the present moment, trust yourself, and let life take care of your destiny.
