And yes, it’s already been a whole year! It was difficult, special, wonderful, and full of ups and downs, but we got through it together, as a team. We survived a pregnancy, several arguments between our two families, a childbirth, a lockdown, one child with intense needs, and another on our hands. We faced financial difficulties, health issues, decisions, and changes; we said goodbye to some people in our lives and hello to others. I wanted to highlight our strongest moments from this first year of marriage.
To start with, we had to manage my body and this second pregnancy. A body in pieces, a child who doesn’t really listen, and gestational diabetes. We had to have me sleep on the couch because of my hips; we changed our eating habits to keep my body from breaking down—but above all, you put up with my hormones during the most crucial year of a marriage. Hats off to you, my love!
Then, we faced serious financial difficulties—one of the biggest sources of stress in this world—and especially so during our first year of marriage. We got through it with a lot of help, but above all, with our strength and our love. I’m proud of us!
Then, we had to face a lockdown and a virus. We handled it really well, and our family is doing fine in the face of this scourge. Being cooped up with the same person would have gotten the better of many people, but for us, it actually brought us much closer together. I really enjoyed going through that with you!
Finally, we had to make the hardest choice in the world. We had to say goodbye to one of our furry friends—our beautiful Rocky! Even though it was so difficult, we got through it all for our daughter and mourned the loss of a member of our little family. It was a tough ordeal, but I know our beautiful dog is watching over our family!
Even though this first year has been more than difficult, I know that life still has many beautiful, long, and wonderful years ahead of us, filled with happiness. Thank you for being my friend, my partner, my confidant, my lover. I love you as far as the stars and beyond! Happy wedding anniversary, my Sweetheart!
