Let’s celebrate, ladies!

Today, I’m claiming my right to talk down to you, mom! To rattle your cage and squeeze that heart of yours right where it belongs.

Let’s celebrate, ladies!

Today, I’m claiming my right to talk down to you, mom! To rattle your cage and squeeze that heart of yours right where it belongs. Today, I’m filling our glasses, and we’re celebrating this beautiful and important Women’s Day together.

It’s important to remember how important we are as moms, partners, and bringers of harmony in the home, but it’s even more important to put on your “woman” hat to celebrate YOURSELF as a woman! All too often, we forget ourselves or hide behind our roles as moms, lose ourselves in the mental load and daily chores, and disappear from our social circles. So it’s your turn to put down the mop—today, you’re the one we’re honoring.

You, the woman who works to keep the household budget in balance. You, the woman who has the right to voice her opinion without being burned at the stake. You, the woman who votes, who studies, who creates. You, the woman who thinks, who acts, and who moves this society forward. To you, the woman above all else—the gentleness and the rumbling strength. This is our day to remind ourselves of what we are—or rather, who we are. Let’s stop forgetting the woman who gets up to do the impossible every morning. Let’s remember all those important women who are fighting for our bright future as significant and equal beings in the face of a male-dominated world that still too often prevails. Let’s be—at least today—proud to be women.

Let’s also be generous toward all those men who work to lift us up in this life—to make us feel better and more beautiful in this dark sea of a wonderful world. Who show us that within each of us shines a unique star which, when brought together by this feminine bond, reveals the galaxy that we form. As for the men who still haven’t understood our worth—too bad for you, gentlemen—because you’ll never reach the ultimate pinnacle of class.

Ladies, let’s be strong, brilliant, and magnificently confident. Let’s claim the place that is rightfully ours, this day that celebrates us and reminds us that our struggle is not in vain. Let your star shine in the most beautiful way, by asserting your right to be free and to live.

Let’s be ready to change the image of the mother, the sister, or the lover, so that the first thing people see when they pass us on the street is the woman we are.

Let’s celebrate, ladies!

Happy International Women’s Day!
