Yesterday, I attended my first two parent meetings at my children’s daycare. I noticed the same thing at both meetings: the teachers are the parents’ superheroes. And not just the other parents’—they’re my superheroes, too!
In my son’s class, the teacher can manage seven 18-month-olds while keeping the educational aspects of their development in mind. The kids even wait for her signal before eating! They put their toys away right away when she rings the bell!
Impressive, isn’t it?
In my older daughter’s class, the teacher finds time to build a close relationship with each of the nine children in her care. Through it all, all their toys are within easy reach, and she manages to keep the classroom tidy.
How?!
The children even get to plan their playtime and take on responsibilities every day! In short, my children’s teachers are nothing short of superheroes.
Sitting in those meetings, I could see the admiration all the parents present had for them as they sought their advice:
“What approach would you recommend if a child won’t eat?”
“What should I do if my child hits me?”
“If my child bites me, what should I do?”
Parents don’t always know what to do, and they admire the order that reigns at the daycare. I’m the first to admit it! The teachers always had the right answers, offering advice to support us in raising our children.
We thank them during this Early Childhood Educators’ Week.
Through it all, let’s not lose confidence in our role as parents. Our children need each and every one of us. They need their amazing educators, their parents, and more. Together, as a team, let’s work for our children! Everyone who’s there for our children is an AMAZING person who contributes to the development of an exceptional individual in the making.
Thank you to the AMAZING educators!
