Let's face it, most people have a bunch of friends. But which ones are really TRUE friends? Unfortunately, in the society we live in, there aren't many people you can count on. People are so self-centered, like “ me, myself, and I "…that they forget that others around them may be going through difficult times and simply need support from their friends."
I'm proud to say that I actually have a friend who doesn't just think about herself. She puts others before herself. Those who have her as a friend are lucky, but I'm even luckier, because she's MY best friend.
Overnight, my dear friend, you became my other half, my partner in crime, my confidante, and quite simply my best friend. When life brings someone like you into our lives, no matter how old we are, the friendship can be just as deep and lasting as if we’d known each other for 20 years. Life brought me into your path, and I thank it every day. During the difficult times in my life, I was so lucky to have you—and to still have you. You’re the one who helped me get back on my feet, keep smiling, and, above all, hold on to hope. I know I can count on you at any time. I’m proud to say that you share not only my moments of sadness but also my moments of joy. Thank you, my friend, for all the support you give me, for all the love you show me, for lending me a shoulder when I need to cry, but most of all, thank you for being you.
Luckily, with you, I can say anything without feeling judged. It’s so easy these days to judge the people around us and criticize them for everything they do. I’m lucky to have a friend who’s the complete opposite of everyone else.
I hope our children experience a friendship as strong as ours, because it’s priceless. Having a friend, a best friend, a confidante is a true treasure. Thanks to you, I am rich in love and friendship.
Every friendship is different with every person we meet, but when we find that one special person, it becomes a friendship like no other. We might have 200 friends, but only one will be our best friend forever. Luckily, I’ve found that person.
