My dear friend, I’m writing to you today because I want to thank you. I want to thank you for standing by me without judgment through every stage of my life, including when I became a mom. Many people see their friendships crumble when motherhood enters the picture, but ours has remained strong, even though it has changed. Sure, we don’t do the same things we used to, and I’m a little less available, but you don’t hold that against me, and I appreciate it.
I love how you don’t judge my life choices, and I don’t judge yours. Our daily lives are very different, but I love listening to you tell me about your latest adventures, just as you love hearing about my little one’s recent progress.

I know I’m less available than before, and that when I show up at the restaurant for our girls’ nights out, I’m tired and it takes me a little while to get into the spirit of things… but you never make me feel bad or guilty, because despite our different life choices, we’re on the same page in so many other ways! We still share the same fits of laughter and the same close bond that’s been there since day one of our friendship.
I also want to thank you for helping me remember the other parts of myself—the ones I too often neglect in the daily hustle and bustle. Without you, I know that certain aspects of my life would inevitably end up being pushed aside…
I hope I bring some positivity into your life, too. Sometimes I feel like I take more from our friendship than I give, but know that your happiness and fulfillment are close to my heart, and that I’ll always be there for you.
I’m so happy that my kids have you as their “auntie” at heart. They’re lucky to have someone as wonderful as you in their lives!
Thank you for being my friend—I love you.
