As a kid, I used to whine for ages that having a sister 10 years younger than me was useless, and I didn’t see the point.
As a teenager, I loved her… Well, a little, especially when she was asleep, to be honest! You know, being the oldest in a family of three kids isn’t exactly a choice!
Now, I realize that my little sister is absolutely essential to my sense of balance in life. She’s my role model for determination. Currently a medical student at UdeM, she devotes her entire life to her books. I wouldn’t have a quarter of the iron will she has. Day after day, her tenacity amazes me! My little sister is athletic, pretty, dedicated, hardworking, and super smart! She has it all—and on top of that, she has an exceptional big sister!
The best part of it all is that I chose my little sister to be my daughter’s godmother, and it’s been the best decision in the world. The bond she shares with my daughter is incredible. They’ve built an unbreakable connection! She lets her get up to all sorts of mischief—you know, the kind of things Mom doesn’t do with her. For example, they often lock themselves in their godmother’s room for an hour to slather liters of different scented moisturizers all over their bodies. Or to secretly put on makeup together, even if Mom doesn’t approve! My little sister always has a thousand ideas for games or projects. She knows how to play with PetShop dolls and Lalaloopsies; she knows how to take care of a doll, how to play “dog,” how to make a caterpillar-o-drome, and so on. I couldn’t ask for anything better.
My little sister is always willing to help me out when I need a babysitter. She signs her up for a million sports activities. She teaches her the basics of anatomy and healthy lifestyle habits; I’m sure she’s made it her mission! When they haven’t seen each other in a while, they both get bored. They’re adorable—my daughter really has the best godmother in the world!
