What's Best for Us

I’ve been wondering for a while now what would be best for you, for me, for us, for our family life—for everything.

I’ve been wondering for a while now about our future as a team, our future as a couple, and our future as roommates.

I’ve gone over it a thousand and one times—what might happen if I decided to just walk away from it all. If I decided to think about myself and my own happiness. It’s not that I’m unhappy right now, but I’m not happy either. I’ve been caught in the middle for so long that I’m just bobbing up and down on the waves without deciding which way I want to go.

I know the grass isn’t greener on the other side. That’s probably why I haven’t made a decision in all this time. Ending a family life isn’t something you do on a whim. In my opinion, everything has to be carefully considered, leaving nothing to chance. After all, we have the future of two little people in our hands.

I often wonder just how much happier I’d really be if I made such a decision. I’m going to put it aside for a while longer and keep thinking about what I want for myself, for you, for us, and for them. For the sake of our family—because even if I end our “us,” there will always be two people who have to work as a team for the happiness of their children. Because deep down, that’s what really matters in all of this.
